Zakat | Kerana Harta (Director’s Cut)

A short drama for Wakaf Masyarakat Singapura’s annual zakat campaign, the first of a two-part series. Kerana Harta (“because of inheritance”) follows a Malay-Muslim family as a death and an unprepared estate pull them apart. The film makes the case for legacy planning through the consequences of avoiding it: the rifts between siblings, the assets that go to court rather than family, the conversations that needed to happen years earlier. Paired with Anak Pungut as a connected two-episode arc, with the same characters carried across. Written and shot for the Ramadan and Hari Raya broadcast window.
