A campaign film for MUIS, the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore, released for the Ramadan zakat window. Nenek Keropok plays on a familiar Singaporean folk myth, then turns it. The brief was to give a long-running annual campaign a treatment that would not feel like the previous year’s. We let the genre subversion do the work, audiences set up to expect one thing and getting another. Made for MUIS’s annual broadcast and digital push across Ramadan.
